Sometimes change is good!
You’re a successful company, but you want more. You would like to grow the customer base, or show people that your company is the one to choose over your competitor. Word of mouth is great, and experience speaks for itself, but how do you make your company stand out in a crowd?
This is where rebranding yourself makes all the difference.
We recently watched a television program that takes failing hospitality businesses and transforms them into thriving, updated places. Even if the name of the place stays the same, sometimes the most important thing a company can do is what’s known as rebranding. This is also why many well known companies will change their logo or tweak it slightly; it gives the impression that there is something new, exciting, and fresh about the company, even if nothing’s really changed at all.
This photo is a great example of rebranding in action. Over the years, Madison Top has updated and changed their logo to reflect changes. In this photo, we have four different logos that we have used at various times in our history. Each one is a reflection of the times, and how we have worked trends and forward thinking into the logo.
Now, your company doesn’t have to completely use new logos like ours has. You can still benefit from rebranding, even if you don’t want to start all over from scratch. Here are some easy ways to update your corporate image so that you can tap into the power of rebranding:
Update your logo colors. If you’ve always done black and white on a red shirt, think about changing the shirt color to a bright blue, or changing the logo colors to a charcoal and cream scheme. Updating the colors, especially to a more trend positive
color scheme, is a great way of making your logo vibrant again. How often does a fresh coat of paint brighten up a room? Think of a splash of color as the fresh coat of paint for your company’s image.
Tweak the design. If you’re able to make design changes to your company’s logo, consider adding rounded corners or a new, updated Sans Serif font.
Unbutton. By that, we mean look at new ways of introducing fresh ideas into your corporate wardrobe. If you’re always wearing the same polo shirt or oxford, making a little change will mean a huge difference in how people perceive your company. For example – do you normally get a white button down oxford with your logo embroidered on it? What would happen if you instead reached for an upscaled plaid oxford instead? A fun, yet still professional look that exudes a modern style – to your customers, this means that you’re thinking ahead of the curve.
These small details might go unnoticed by some, but you’ll see a huge difference in how rebranding, even in little ways, will affect your company’s image.
